PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dustproof mask which has high safety and excellent mountability, exhibits an excellent dust collecting effect to particulates, such as soot, pollen and dust, adversely affecting the human body, arid prohibit the infiltration of these particulates into the respiratory systems of the human body. SOLUTION: One sheet of a rectangular plane shape electrode 2 consisting of an active carbon resin or active carbon fibers is covered with an insulative filter material 3 consisting of a non-woven fabric made of a resin, such as polypropylene, having a high insulation characteristic. The electrode is built into a commercially marketed mask 4 made of gauze. A high voltage is then impressed between the electrode 2 and the air or clothing as the ground to generate powerful nonequal electric fields at the circumference of the electrode 2, i.e., over the entire area of the dustproof mask 1. An equally good alternative may be constituted to use two sheets of the plane shape electrodes, to arrange these electrodes apart a spacing within the same plane, to cover the electrodes with the insulative filter material consisting of the non-woven fabric made of the resin, to build such electrodes into the commercially marketed mask made of the gauze and to impress the high voltage between the electrodes. |
