PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin preparation for external use, excellent in effects on protection of skin and retention of water, capable of activating metabolism of skin, increasing elasticity of skin, by blending a protein, a protein hydrolyzate, etc., with an escinol (salt). SOLUTION: One or more of a protein, a protein hydrolyzate, etc., are mixed with an escinol of the formula (R<1> is H or a hydroxyl group; R<2> is a pyranose residue) or its salt in the ratio of 0.1-20wt.% of the protein and protein hydrolyzate based on the whole amount in the blending ratio of 0.1-60 pts.wt. of the escinol or its salt to 1 pt.wt. of the protein and the protein hydrolyzate and further a sequestering agent such as sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, an antioxidant such as butylhydroxyanisole, a surfactant, an ultraviolet light absorber, a perfume, water, ethanol, a thwacking agent, a colorant, etc., and pharmaceutically manufactured to give the objective skin preparation for external use, effective for activating metabolism of skin and maintaining health of skin. |
