<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate additional settings to each cutter position in a cutting machine capable of cutting a wide width belt shaped substance into a narrow width one by a plurality of cutters mounted onto an axial member extended in the direction perpendicularly intersected with the feeding direction. SOLUTION: When one positional arrangement of cutters is selectively changed over out of the (n) ways (2<=n) of positional arrangements for the cutters wherein a plurality of the cutters 4U are moved in the axial direction of an axial member 2U by using cutter moving means 6U, 8U and 9U, and letting each cutter stand side by side at equal prescribed intervals, the (n) ways of cutter disposition programs and the (n) ways of programs for returning each cutter to its datum, are stored in a memory means wherein in the aforesaid disposition programs, a plurality of cutters 4U are moved from one way of each datum position G (N) which is set over the axial member 2U, to the position of each cutter respectively, and in the aforesaid programs for returning each cutter, a plurality of cutters 4U are returned to each datum position G (N) from the position of each cutter. The cutters 4U are returned to the datum position once from the position of each cutter at present in accordance with one of the programs for returning each cutter to its datum, and subsequently, the cutters 4U are moved into the subsequent position of each cutter in accordance with the aforesaid cutter disposition program.</p> |
