PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface protective sheet which does not leave any mark of bonding on a coated surface under he conditions involving a temperature rise, is excellent in the ability to protect coated surface, and is satisfactorily peeled from the surface without leaving any adhesive thereon by forming a layer of a rubber-bare pressure-sensitive adhesive containing polyethylene glycol having a specified molecular weight ion a supporting base of a surface protective sheet. SOLUTION: This sheet is prepared by forming a layer of a rubber base pressure- sensitive adhesive containing polyethylene glycol having a weight-average molecular weight of 100-7,000. The make of bonding is apt top leave on the sheet because the absorption preventive effect of the component of the coating film is insufficient when the weight-average molecular weight is outside the range of 100-7,000. From the viewpoint of the absorption-preventive effect, the polyethylene glycol used has a weight- average molecular weight of desirably 300-3,000, particularly desirably 400-1,500. The amount of the polyethylene glycol added is suitably determined according to the compatibility, the thickness of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to be formed, etc. When the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness of 15μm, the amount of the polyethylene glycol added is desirably 1-25 pts.wt., particularly 3-20 pts.wt. 100 pts.wt. rubber-base pressure sensitive adhesive.
