Compounds of the formula iron complexes thereof and mixtures of such iron complexes, wherein D is a monocyclic or bicyclic aromatic diazo component radical of the benzene series containing one -SO3M group or is R1 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and R4 is hydrogen, chloro or C1-2alkyl, wherein R' is hydrogen, C1-4alkyl, C2-4hydroxyalkyl, methoxy(C2-4alkyl) or R'' is hydrogen, C1-4alkyl, C2-4hydroxyalkyl or methoxy(C2-4alkyl), or -NR'R'' is a saturated 5- or 6-membered ring, R5 is hydrogen, chloro or C1-2alkyl, and X is hydrogen or hydroxy, wherein each R2 is independently hydrogen, chloro, hydroxy, C1-2alkyl, C1-2alkoxy or -SO2NRoRo, and each R3 is independently hydrogen, C1-2alkyl, C1-2alkoxy, -COOM, trifluoromethyl or -NR'''R'''', wherein each R''' and R'''' is independently C1-4alkyl, C2-4hydroxyalkyl, methoxy(C2-4alkyl) or carbamoyl(C1-2alkyl), or -NR'''R'''' is saturated 5- or 6-membered ring, each Ro is independently hydrogen, C1-4alkyl, C2-4hydroxyalkyl or methoxy-(C2-4alkyl), or -NRoRo is a saturated 5- or 6-membered ring, and each M is independently hydrogen or a cation, which iron complexes and mixtures of iron complexes are useful for dyeing substrates dyeable with anionic dyes such as leather.
