PURPOSE:To prevent internal short circuit and to increase quality by arranging an insulator having a bridge formed in the center of a ring and elastic portions whose tips are pressed against a seam to elastically prevent the deformation of an electrode body. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 14 is arranged between the upper surface of an electrode body 5 and a seam 1a formed on a sealing cover 6 side of a battery case 1 by protruding the battery case 1 inward. The insulator 14 consists of a ring 14a and a T-shaped bridge 14b bridged so as to pass the center of the ring 14a. Two facing elastic ribs 18, 18 are protrusively formed on the upper surface of the ring 14a. The outer peripheries of the ribs 18, 18 are flushed with circumference of the ring 14a, and the upper ends of the ribs 18, 18 are pressed against the seam 1a. The movement of the electrode body 5 in the lengthy direction is prevented and the deformation of the electrode body 5 in a seam forming process is also prevented. The internal short circuit of a battery is effectively prevented. |
