<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a golfer to have a comfortable feel at the palms of the hands together with a comfortable sound at the time of putting and to offer an exclusive effect, such as extremely good rolling of a ball, by providing a golf putter with a head composed of a Ti-Al alloy made of a compsn. contg. a prescribed ratio of Al and consisting of the balance Ti with inevitable impuri ties. SOLUTION: The golf putter made of the Ti-Al alloy has the head 1 composed of the Ti-Al alloy made of the compsn. contg. 25 to 36wt.% Al and consisting of the balance Ti with inevitable impurities. The Ti-Al alloy made of such compsn. preferably has a duplex structure. The duplex structure is composed of crystal grains of a single phase composed mainly of aγphase and crystal grains having a laminar structure of theγphase andα2 phase. The Ti-Al alloy having such duplex structure improves ductility and, therefore, is considered to be suitable as the blank for the putter head. The finer crystal grains of the duplex structure are more preferable, since the ductility is higher as the crystal grains are finer.</p> |
