PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an SO2 oxidizing ratio without bringing about the lowering of denitration capacity. SOLUTION: A catalyst structure 3 obtained by laminating a plurality of catalyst elements 1 each formed by alternately providing ridge parts 2 composed of strip like projections and flat plate parts to at least one denitration catalyst bed among a plurality of denitration catalyst beds arranged in an exhaust gas flowing direction at a predetermined interval so that the ridge parts of the mutually adjacent catalyst elements 1 cross each other at a right angle are arranged in an SOx-containing exhaust gas passage. A very small amt. of a component (e.g. V-compd.) having SO2 oxidizing capacity is contained in exhaust gas according to circumstances and gradually bonded and deposited on a catalyst (structure) after the operation of a denitration apparatus is started to generate an inevitable problem increasing the SO2 oxidizing ratio of the denitration apparatus with the elapse of time but, by arranging the catalyst structure 3 to the denitration bed at least on the inlet side of the denitration apparatus, SO2 oxidizing reaction can be suppressed. |
