PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an improver for ischemic cerebropathy, comprising a cyathane derivative as an active ingredient and effective in reducing learning dysmnesia which is a sequela to cerebral angiopathy such as cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage. SOLUTION: This improver for ischemic cerebropathy comprises a cyathane derivative such as formula I or H as an active ingredient. The cyathane derivative is separated from a cultured mycelium of Hericium erinaceum which is a mushroom belonging to the genus Hericium of the family Hydnaceae. The compound of formula I, II, etc., is obtained by culturing the mycelium of the Hericium erinaceum in a culture medium, centrifuging the resultant cultured product, separating the cultured product into a supernatant and a cultured mycelium, extracting the cultured mycelium with water and an organic solvent, providing an extract solution, extracting the supernatant with the water and a solvent, affording a dried solid substance and carrying out a chromatographic fractionating and a refractionating treatments. The compound is prepared as a peroral administration agent such as a tablet, a granule, a powder, a capsule, a syrup or a suspension and a parenteral administration agent such as an injection, a solution for instillation or a suppository according to a conventional method. |
