<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an intake device by connecting intake ducts from second and third cylinders to two upper connecting portions, respectively, while connecting intake ducts from first and fourth cylinders to two lower connecting portions, respectively, in a surge tank to which the four intake ducts for a four-cylinder internal combustion engine are connected. SOLUTION: Four connecting portions 21-24 are arranged at one side face 13b of a surge tank 13 in a rectangular form being longer in a vertical direction. Intake ducts 15-18 are curved from respective cylinders A1-A4 toward the side face 13b. Thereafter, the intake ducts 15, 18 are connected to the lower connecting portions 21, 24, respectively; while the intake ducts 16, 17 are connected to the upper connecting portions 22, 23, respectively. Consequently, it is possible to increase a gap dimension in a vertical direction between the upper connecting portions 22, 23 and the lower connecting portions 21, 24, and further, to avoid intake pulses of the cylinders A1 and A4 from interfering with each other inside the surge tank 13 even if a gap dimension between the connecting portions 21 and 24 is decreased.</p> |
