PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good image free from fog or missing dots and having a sufficient image density in an image forming apparatus supplying ink to the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of an image carrier to form an ink image and transferring the ink image to a recording medium to form an image. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is equipped with a latent image forming means 2 forming an electrostatic latent image of which the surface potential is within a range of 200-2000V on the surface of an image carrier 1, a coating means 3 applying a release material 32 to the surface of the image carrier having the electrostatic latent image formed thereon, an ink carrier 41 bringing ink 42 held to the surface thereof in predetermined thickness into contact with the surface of the image carrier to form the ink image corresponding to the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the image carrier and a transfer means 6 transferring the ink image formed on the image carrier to a recording medium 7. |
