PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material for an ink jet printing method, which is characterized by high color density, favorable fastness to water, low bleed, image clarity and dimensional stability. SOLUTION: This recording material contains a paper support and a pigment and a binder-containing ink absorbing layer. The paper contains a mixture of soft wood sulfate cellulose and eucalyptus oil cellulose, has a wet stretch in cross-sectional direction of below 3.0 and a tearing length ratio (longitudinal/ cross-sectional) of below 2, stiffness ratio (longitudinal/cross-sectional) of below 2 and a density of below 0.8m<3> /kg. |
