<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously prevent the occurrence of heat scratch and the rupture of the plate without an increase in cost and a lowering of productivity by controlling the tension of a rolling stand according to the crack length of a tip part on the plate side, and also, controlling a rolling speed according to a plate temperature. SOLUTION: Crack detection information from an image processor 10 and temperature detection information from a plate thermometer 11, are inputted in a computing element 12. Rolling conditions such as crack length and tension, etc., by which the rupture of the plate is not allowed to occur in a final stand, are previously set in the computing element 12. By this computing element 12, the maximum length of a crack per unit length is operated from the crack detection information obtained from the image processor 10, and tension by which the rupture of the plate does not occur, is operated. And, the driving device 14 of the final stand is controlled through a drive controller 13 so that a rolling speed by which heat scratch does not occur, is obtained from the temperature detection information obtained from the plate thermometer 11.</p> |
