Filter for the removal of dust in a gas stream at temperatures up to 700 deg C, in the form of an endless belt conveyor (2) whose plane is vertical, relative to a horizontal gas stream. Metallic or ceramic filter elements (11) are attached to the belt so that, as they pass over the lower drum (9), the filter cake is removed by shattering and by being forced off by a continuous, or intermittent, gas blast at (15). The detritus collects in funnels (6) and is discharged at (19). |
