A device consisting of a broad belt (1) with a stomach region and vertebral regions having supporting and locating pads (2, 9, 10) is disclosed. The pads preferably consist of an inner low-density foam (2), an intermediate rubber layer (10) provided in three internal pockets (6, 7, 8) and an outer foam layer (9). The device is useful for straightening the lumbar region of the backbone of a person lying face-down or on their side.
