Secondary (2,3) alkyl sulfate surfactants are admixed with powdered detersiv e ingredients and combined with a surfactant paste. The resulting detergent dough is extruded through an orifice and sized to provide particles. The particles are coated with a free-flow aid. The resulting SAS particles exhib it improved solubility and are especially useful in laundry detergents.
