When the user selects a program from a program table, the program is treated as a fixed program required by the user and the inconvenience such as duplicate operation may happen. In order to select a required television program among a plurality of television programs stored in an image memory device without unnecessary repeated operation, the apparatus comprises a display having first and second display regions, a menu display unit which displays a menu including a plurality of button keys corresponding to a plurality of the television programs stored in the image memory device (14) on the first display region, a selection receiving unit which receives a selection selected by the user from a plurality of the button keys, and a selected image display unit which displays images frame by frame correspondingly to the selection in accordance with the received selection code received by the selection receiving unit on the second display region.
