<p>An electric cable switch comprising two electrically conductive holders (7) for joining the ends (5) of the electric cable (3). The holders (7) are joined together in such a way that their outer conductive surfaces are coplanar, and electrically isolated by a seal (15) made of dielectric material and provided at the cable end. The switch further comprises a conductive ring or sleeve (17) slidably mounted on the interconnected holders and provided with at least one internal contact recess (19) extending widthwise or lengthwise, respectively, and engaging the outer surface of the holders (7). Said ring or sleeve (17) is movable between a position in which it is over the seal (15) connecting the holders (7) and in electrical contact with both holders so that the electrical circuit of the cable (3) is closed, and a position in which it is shifted away from the seal (15) and contacts only one of the holders (7) so that the electrical circuit of the cable (3) is open.</p> |
