<p>The invention relates to a method for the dry oxidation of starches or starch derivatives with ozone, wherein at least a part of the primary hydroxyl groups are selectively oxidized. The oxidation can be performed in the presence of a buffer and/or a halogenide-containing catalyst. The starches which are treated according to the invention are root starches, tuber starches and waxy cereal starches.</p> |
