An exothermic body has a pair of comb-like electrodes (23, 24) of < 10 mu m thickness, formed on one of the two opposite main faces of a planar PTC thermistor element (11). Also claimed are methods of producing an exothermic body in which the comb-like electrodes are formed by plating and etching, selective plating or sputtering.
