High response accuracy laundry washing for use in a washing machine

Method of washing laundry in a washing machine comprises registering the pressures in the reversing phases and the reverse pauses continuously and independently of each other, to give mean pressure values. A pressure difference value is derived from the mean pressure values for each reversing cycle, through the mean pressure values for the reverse pause and reverse phase. On achieving a pressure difference close to zero, such as 10 mm/water column, or on a given variation of the pressure difference, a signal is generated to indicate excessive foam formation.
