Document separation device for automatic document delivery unit

The device separates documents stacked on a support and feeds them to a preselected position. The device contains a feed roller (31) rotatable wrt. the documents stacked on the support, a strip-shaped rotatable part (32) which can rotate opposite to the feed device and which rests against the feed roller under pressure and a butt angle variation mechanism. The butt angle variation mechanism varies the butt or engagement angle between a surface of the document on the stack and a surface of a section of the rotatable part against which the forward edge of the document butts.
