A strip or rib (33) within the tube restricts the rotary entrainment of the swarf etc product by the screw (11) by applying reactionary force to the product towards the discharge end or opposite, depending on the way the screw rotates. The rib may come in the form of a profiled rod of rectangular or equilaterally triangular section inserted in the tube so as to narrow the tube section over a defined angle, or as a groove on the outside of the tube so the groove walls reach into tube interior. The longways guide is provided by a channel shape radially enlarging the tube section within a defined angle, or again an inside groove in the tube casing. The tube may be in two parts divided in a plane parallel to and preferably containing the longitudinal axis (13) of the tube so the tube (33) runs along a surface line itself parallel to the tube centre axis (13). Several ribs etc may be used arranged axi-symmetric to the axis (13) in a plane at right angles to this , the respective ribs in turn being azimuthally equi-distant.
