Capacity extension method for GSM network

The method involves dividing the geographical region to be supplied, into multiple cells, with a presettable number of cells forming a cluster (CL). Each cluster has several frequency channels, and each cell has at least one channel pair for the transceiver connections to the mobile stations. In a presettable cluster there is at least one base station (B51) with directional transceiver properties divided into forward and return directions. In the forward direction the base station has a directly adjacent near region, followed by a distant region. The geographical limits of an adjacent cell (F2) correspond to the maximum limits of the distant region, while the near region is divided into number of directional sectors (F1-24) with allocated frequency channels.
