Medical cutting pliers mounted on end of tube

The pliers consist of a fixed jaw (22) and a movable jaw (24) which hinges from a pivot (26) on the fixed jaw. The fixed jaw has a cut-out (52) at its lower side which extends the whole thickness of the jaw. An extension (62) on the moving jaw protrudes into this cut-out where it is connected to an operating rod. The operating rod passes through a tube, with which the pliers are inserted in the patient. A fixed and a pivoting scissor type handle, with which the pliers are operated, are mounted at the end of the tube.
