The device has a liquid circuit (FKI) contg. a heat exchanger (2), pump (4), heat source (1) and valve (3). The heat exchanger is subjected to air on the secondary side; a fan (20) generates an air flow. A cooling circuit (KK) contains a vaporiser (8), condenser (9) and compressor (10). A controller (23) regulates according to a temp. sensor signal and an adjustable demand value. Another liquid circuit (FKII), which can be connected to the first via the valve, contains a thermal store (7) and a pump (5). The heat source operates independently of the vehicle operation to heat air flowing through the heat exchanger as required and/or to charge the thermal store with heat energy. The vaporiser can be thermally coupled to the heat exchanger to charge the thermal store with cold energy.
