The support frame (6) is clamped to the button (5) in the end of the instrument via a clamping grip (7). The chin support (10) is fitted to the support frame by struts (13) and universal joints (12). The shoulder pad (23) and the breast pad (24) are fitted to the frame by adjustable supports incorporating universal joints (22). The support frame is further braced onto the edge of the instrument by a lipped flange to prevent relative movement of the support frame and the instrument. The separate supports are adjustable to fit the size of the player and support the forces on the instrument during playing. The adjusters include adjusting nuts (14) and sliding clamps (18,19).
