A toothed rod for a loom is made of a blend of long-fibre plastics. The blend consists of high-strength, highly rigid fibres and shear-resistant plastic matrix materials. The rod has a toothed profile with thin walls, and two support profiles (3) located opposite on the longitudinal sides. A coarse fabric layer (2), preferably made of polyamide, is located on the toothed section.
