A clip A for holding paper B is comprised of a U-shaped resilient press cover 4 which surrounds and is slidably mounted on a similarly shaped resilient clip body 1 having pinch jaws 3a. The clip A grips when the press cover 4 slides towards the clip body 1 by means of tabs 8 engaged in grooves 7 causing the jaws 3a on the clip body 1 to be forced together. The clip body 1 has a smaller spring constant than the press cover 4.
