Plastics guide tube for headrest strut of vehicle seat

The plastics guide tube (1) fits into two superimposed openings (18) in the cross beams (19) of the seat. The tube has spring lugs (10) which engage the walls of the beams behind the openings when inserted. Behind each group of outer overlapping lugs (9,10) is a curved steel spring (15) with a defined inward tension. A further curved steel spring (12) with a defined inward tension is placed on the inner spring group of lugs (7). The form of the curved steel springs is close to half the cross section of the guide tube. The ends of the springs can be held in corresponding chamfered formations (13,16).
