Heat resistant coloured metal kitchen objects, e.g. pots and pans, have a non-metallic layer on the surface of the metal body or on parts of the metal body. The surface of the metal body without the non-metallic layer has a reflection value of less than 80%. The non-metallic layer is absorption-free and has a refractive index of more than 1.7. The thickness of the layer is 50-1000nm.
