Sprung suspension strut for motor vehicle

The strut for the front axle of a motor vehicle has a helical coil spring (1) formed of spring wire (2). The strut extends between an upper mounting (9) on the vehicle body and a lower mounting (8) on the wheel carrier. A weight (4,4') is mounted on the coil spring, bonded to the spring wire. There can be two such weights. One weight can be attached to the coil spring on the side leading in the travel direction of the vehicle and the other can be in the trailing direction. The weights can be mounted on the radial inner side of the spring.
