The compensating current regulator has a current adjusting unit, setting a desired value of the sensor signal, depending on the deviations of the signal from the sensor (L11,L12,L21,L22). An evaluation stage (1,2,3) is connected to the sensor. Which produces a first or a second digital control signal (HB-A,HB-B), depending on the exceeding or the failure to reach the desired value of the sensor signal. The digital control signal controls an increase or a reduction of the compensation current (iK). The desired value of the sensor is a zero signal. The evaluation stage (1,2,3) is a designation stage. The sensor is a magnetic field sensor. A frequency greater or equal to 1 MHz, is used for testing the effect of the compensation current (iK).
