The hydraulic pressure storage device is installed in the return line of a hydraulic circuit. It has an axial bore (53) connected to the output line from the control valve. A side bore (54) leading off from the axial bore is connected to a line leading via a valve to the low-pressure reservoir. The bores are connected to a chamber (52) underneath a floating piston (50). The chamber (51) on the other side of the floating piston is filled with gas. There is a non-return valve which lets gas into the chamber but prevents its escape. The valve is connected to a gas bottle or high-pressure air line (62) via a pressure reducing valve.
