Method of preparing iron disulfide electrodes

Iron disulfide electrodes are prepared by: slurrying the FeS2 in molten sulfur; spreading the slurry into FeS2-S sheets; solidifying the FeS2-S sheets; sandwiching the FeS2-S sheets between porous current-conductor sheets; and heating the thusly formed sandwich to volatize away the sulfur. Flexible FeS2-S sheets are obtained by heating the slurry to about 300 DEG C and then rapidly quenching them in H2O.
