PURPOSE:To observe a picture with excellent definition by displaying the picture while moving a position where the picture is displayed on a display screen in case that the picture is displayed on a display unit of which aspect ratio is different from that of the video picture which is displayed. CONSTITUTION:In case that the picture of which aspect ratio is different from that possessed by the display screen of the display unit is displayed on that display screen of the unit like the case that an usual television picture is displayed on the display screen of a unit which is suitable for receiving an HDTV picture, it is displayed while moving the position where the picture is displayed. Thus, even when the unit is used for the plural kinds of picture display of which aspect ratio is different, the video display unit which the difference of the luminance at the end part of the picture is inconspicuous can be obtained. |
