<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to make it possible to detect a target at a short distance without transmitting a short pulse, by forming the received signal of a short pulse out of the received signal with respect to a transmitted signal of a long pulse. CONSTITUTION:A frequency modulated transmitting signal having a long pulse width is outputted from a transmitter 8 at a specified repeating period. The signal is emitted into space from an antenna 1 through a circulator 2. The signal is reflected from a target and received again with the antenna 1. The received signal is divided into two parts in a signal distributor 3 by way of the circulator 2. One signal is inputted into a narrow band receiver 4, and the other is inputted into a pulse compressing receiver 7. In the receiver 4, a thin pulse is formed from the rear edge part of each received signal of the long pulse which is continuously inputted and the pulse is outputted into a signal selector 5. Meanwhile, in the receiver 7, the received signal having the width of one long pulse is received and pulse compression is performed so as to form one short pulse. Therefore, the short pulse is outputted in continuation with the elapsed time of the width of pulse of the received signal at leading edge. In this way the target at a short distance can be detected without the transmission and the reception of the short pulse.</p> |
