A container body (2) has transverse and parallel openings (5) which stop short of the upper edge (4) and base (3). The lid (8) snaps into place by projecting hooks (11) locking into openings (7). Vertical ribs (6) may be provided parallel with openings (5), which together with openings (7) may be blocked by a continuous band when release of vapour is not required. The container is moulded in thermoplastic material.
