摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an image from being contaminated due to contamination of a carrying belt at the time of composite mode copying, by setting a scanning range of a scanning optical system to a range corresponding to a first position with respect to an original which has been set to the first position on an original platen, and to the whole surface of the original platen with respect to an original which has been set to a second position, and also, erasing an image in the range of the first position. CONSTITUTION:When a copying mode is selected by a key, the uppermost original on an original tray 32 is fed out by a feed paper roller, and first of all, a first original OR2 is fed in under a carrying belt 39 by a pinch roller 38. After a prescribed time after the rear end of the original has been detected by an inlet sensor 37, when the original end exceeds a reference point P, the pinch roller 38 and the carrying belt 39 are stopped. With respect to the original OR2 which has been set to the first posi tion (A position), a range of the A position is exposed by a scan optical system, and copying is executed. Subsequently, a second original OR1 is set to the second position (B position), the whole surface of an original platen is exposed and scanned, a part corresponding to the first position A of the original is erased by an erasion lamp, and after a development, it is transferred to a blank paper part on re-feed paper.
