FIELD: equipment for production of isotopes out of fissionable materials, in particular, for production of molybdenum-99 and xenon-133 used in up-to-date medical diagnosis. SUBSTANCE: container for radiation processing of fissionable materials has a body with double annular walls, end annular stoppers and fissionable material to be processes placed between the walls in the annular cavity of the body. Material to be processed for instance, uranium-235, is uniformly distributed in the volume of a matrix made in the form of a sleeve, the sleeve is installed in a spaced relation to the internal surfaces of the body annular cavity, the gaps are filled with contact material, the annular cavities are positioned on both ends of the sleeve. Magnesium is selected as contact material in the gaps, and metal oxide, for instance, magnesium oxide, is selected as material of the sleeve matrix. EFFECT: uniform distribution of fissionable material, improved conditions of heat abstraction, localization of volatile radionuclides, and enhanced safety of work. 4 cl |
