<p>PURPOSE:To improve encoding efficiency in dynamic encoding by grouping an information source, which is separated to a lot of patterns according to a referrence picture element, according to a forecast coincidence rate and similarity. CONSTITUTION:A picture element position signal 59 and picture element signals from latches 55 and 56 are inputted to an LUT (look-up table)57 and a group signal G300 is outputted to show the group number of each condition (pattern). For this grouping, at first, a predictive coincidence rate (k) in each condition (pattern) is obtained by a standard picture and division into an N-group is executed by the value of the (k). Next, out of predicted patterns, the pattern, for which the picture element to be shown by a circle mark is the same value wholly, is extracted and defined as an A group. After that, the pattern, in which the picture element is the same value wholly, excepting for the A group is defined as a B group. Then, the pattern of a dither picture, etc., to easily appear on feature, excepting for the A and B groups, is defined as a C group. Further, the pattern excepting for the A, B and C groups is defined as a D group. Thus, the adaptive encoding is executed even concerning the picture excepting for the standard picture.</p> |
