PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the output of an overcurrent to avoid the breakdown of a circuit and charge a cell efficiently. SOLUTION: A current information which is detected by a current detection resistor R1 whose resistance value is small is fed back through an amplifier 5 to a switching regulator which consists of a chopper circuit 1 and filter composed of a diode D, a coil L and a capacitor C to supply a constant current to a battery 4 for charging. With this constitution, a fault such as the breakdown of a transistor 12 which is caused by an overcurrent flowing into the battery 4 can be avoided. Further, as the switching regulator is used and the resistance loss of the current detection resistor R1 is reduced, a power loss can be eliminated and the battery can be charged highly efficiently. |
