TOUCH PANEL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cursor from being hidden by operator's fingers and disappearing and to improve operability by shifting the cursor upward from its practical position in the case of moving the cursor by an operator through a touch panel. SOLUTION: In a digital instrumentation system for executing process control, a display part of a process operation console for executing operation is constituted of a CRT display device 1 and a touch panel 2 arranged in the front of a CRT display device 1 as an operation input means. When an operator's finger 4 is touched with the panel 2, the position of the cursor 3 is displayed so as to be shifted upward from its practical position. When the operator releases the finger 4 from the panel 2, the position of the cursor 3 is returned from the shifted position to the practical cursor position. Consequently the cursor 3 can be prevented from being hidden by an operator's finger and the normal operation of the touch panel 2 can be confirmed.
