PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a scale in the same thickness on a front surface on a steel piece to prevent depositing the steel piece of a soaking pit. SOLUTION: A scale scattering device 20 is furnished with a hopper 1 furnished with a discharge gate 2 of a scale 110, a moving carriage to relatively move the hopper 1 in the longitudinal direction of steel pieces 100, an application roll 11 to detect an upper surface of the steel pieces 100 and a scraper 13 to make thickness of the scale 110 in accordance with its detected value.
