PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image forming device by which MTF correction as required is applied to each color area of digital color image data. SOLUTION: Image data of red, green and blue color components obtained by reading an original with a CCD sensor 14 are subject to shading correction by a shading correction section 52 and the result is converted into color area signals H, V, C by an area discrimination section 56. The color area of image data is discriminated based on each color area signal, whether data are an edge part or a density flat part is discriminated, and an MTF correction condition decision section 57 sets the condition of MTF correction specific to each color area based on the discrimination information. Then an MTF correction section 58 conducts edge emphasis processing or smoothing processing according to the correction condition. |
