PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unsaturated olefin-based copolymer useful as various kinds of rubber product materials, etc., excellent in dynamic fatigue resistance, weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat aging resistance and low-temperature characteristics, by carrying out a random copolymerization in the presence of a specific catalyst. SOLUTION: (A) A 2-20Cα-olefin is randomly copolymerized with (B) an aromatic ring-containing vinyl monomer of the formula ((m) is 0-5; R<1> to R<3> are each H or a 1-8C alkyl) and (C) a chain nonconjugated triene or tetraene containing one vinyl group in one molecule in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound and an organoaluminum compound and/or an ionized ionic compound to give the objective copolymer comprising 30-99.8mol% of a structural unit derived from the component A, 0.1-60mol% of a structural unit derived from the component B and 0.1-10mol% of a structural unit derived from the component C, respectively, and has 0.05-10dl/g measured viscosity [η] in decalin at 135 deg.C. |
