PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a throughput of printing processing by discharging a preliminary discharge pattern provided independently of a printing pattern when a preliminary discharge signal is inputted in a state that a data stored in the printing pattern is being held from a plurality of printing elements simultaneously in fine drops according to a data creating means. SOLUTION: When a printing operation means 200 detects a printing command, an ink jet head 30 is moved to a preliminary discharge position R. A selecting means 150 selects an output of a preliminary discharge data creating means 160 and a preliminary discharge data is outputted to a next step. A timing pulse is inputted to an energization pulse generating means 180 in which the preliminary discharge data is set. From all discharge openings of the ink jet head 30, ink drops are discharged for predetermined times so as to perform a preliminary discharge processing. Thereafter, time counting is started with a timer 220. After the time counting is started, printing processing of a data of a printing pattern storing means 110 is performed. When a predetermined time has elapsed from a previous preliminary discharge, the preliminary discharge processing is performed, the timer 220 is set to an initial value, and then printing is re-started. |
