PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a hydrazide compound suitably useful as a silver halide photosensitive material and the silver halide photosensitive material using the hydrazide compound. SOLUTION: This hydrazide compound is shown by the formula A-(B)b (A is a heterocyclic group; B is a group of the formula I-B or II-B ((b) is an integer of 2 to 6; the formula I-B is L1 -Ar1 -NHNH-G1 -R1 ; the formula II-B is L3 -AP3 -L2 - Ar2 -NHNH-G2 -R2 ) (G1 and G2 are each a carbonyl group, etc.; R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom or a block group; Ar1 , Ar2 and Ar3 are each an aromatic group or an aromatic heterocyclic group; L1 , L2 and L3 are each a connecting group).
