发明名称 ADJUSTABLE OPTICAL AMPLITUDE PHASE MODULATOR AND SOLITON REGENERATOR CONTAINING SUCH MODULATOR
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soliton regenerator which is not fluctuated in its performance according to environment such as temp. and vibration. SOLUTION: A soliton type optical reproduced signal with wave length λs is inputted from an optical fiber F1 for inputting to the regenerator and enters a loop of NOLM (nonlinear optical mirror) via a coupler C1. A clock signal having wave length λc and preferably a sine curve is generated by a clock regenerating means (not shown in the figure), is inputted into an optical fiber F4 for control inputting and is amplified by an optical modulator EDFA. The clock signal is divided by an optical coupler C4 so as to supply two control signals and are inputted into a first control input of the NOLM via an optical coupler C2 and are inputted into a second control input via an optical coupler C3. Soliton signals including output fiber of the device F2 always have the same wave length λs . Wave length λc of the clock signal is preferably different from wave length λs of the soliton signal in some degree. Selection for blocking the clock signal is made by a band-pass filter BPC at the output of the device and the center of the passing band is put at the wave length λs of the soliton.
