<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store on-screen display(OSD) information in a memory device without increasing the storage capacity of the memory device storing a decoded frame image, a display frame image and a received bit stream in the case of displaying the OSD information onto a displayed image. SOLUTION: In the case that the device has a memory device 10, a decoding control circuit 11 controlling decoding the bit stream and the storage to the memory device 10, and a display control circuit 14, I and P pictures are decoded and stored in the memory device 10. In the case of displaying the OSD information, the storage of the image signal corresponding to the signal stored in areas hidden by B picture OSD information to the memory device 10 is inhibited and the OSD information is stored in the storage area whose storage is inhibited in the memory device 10.</p> |
